Chiropractor and Chiropractic

Chiropractic doctors look for Vertebral Subluxation Complex. (Vertebral meaning the the spinal bones).  Subluxation means a bone is not aligned normally with Complex meaning more than one bone. A Chiropractor locates abnormal spinal structures then uses techniques to reduce their impact to the nervous system. This allows the nerves to function properly and in turn promotes health to the entire body. A chiropractor is very highly qualified and referred to as a Doctor of Chiropractic or Chiropractic Doctor.

Chiropractic philosophy takes a more natural approcach to health care than their medical peers.   The main method used by chiropractors is to manipulate the spine and is known as a chiropractic adjustment, or treatment. A chiropractor uses spinal manipulation in an attempt to correct the vertebral subluxations of the spine.  A precise adjustment to a specific affected vertebra is used to bring about health. 

The nervous system is the primary control mechanism of the body and it's relationship with the spine is the focus of  chiropractic therapy.  When the vertebrae of the spine become misaligned through trauma or repetitive injury the range of motion becomes limited and spinal nerves emerging from the spinal cord become compromised.   A chiropractor uses the term "subluxation" to describe this. The interruption of nerve flow can eventually lead to pain, disability, and a decrease in the quality of life. By correcting or adjusting the subluxation the chiropractic endeavors to restore normal nerve function. The body is then able to respond and correct any imbalance in the system, giving smptom relief s and restoring health.
